Directions
The Philadelphia Ship Model Society is devoted to the
building of both radio controlled and static ship models and the study of Naval
and Maritime history.
Members
- Our members vary from novice builders to master craftsmen
- We range in age from teenagers to retired people
- Our membership consists of both men and women
- We all are there to learn, to discuss our hobby and for the love of the
ships
- Many but not all are ex-military
- Others just love the look of the ships and the lore of the sea

- Static ships of every era
- Radio controlled ships of every era
- Square rigged sailing vessels
- Paddle wheeled ships
- World War II ships
- New Steel Navy
- Submarine and aircraft carriers
- Chinese junks
- If it floats or moves on the water we are interested in it
Activities
- Monthly meetings consist of an interesting program on techniques of model
building or naval history
- We meet the first week of each month with the exception of July and August
- Join us for wonderful camaraderie, interesting programs and great
refreshments
- Meetings are held at the Philadelphia Yacht Club on Front Street. For schedule and directions
